Update on Collective Bargaining as of August 17th 2017

This emails was sent to faculty on August 17th.

Dear Colleagues:

Fifty faculty participated in Friday’s bargaining session, including helping to refine our bargaining proposals during our group’s caucus. The large turnout demonstrated that faculty care about our contract and reinforces our positions. We hope that even more faculty support us at the next bargaining session: this Friday, August 18th, noon – 2:00 p.m. in MH 395E.

The major change during Friday’s negotiating session was in proposed salary increases for promotions:

Both UFF and the BOT agree that salary increases should be across-the-board in 2017-2018 (i.e., no pool for merit salary increases). Our proposal is for an across-the-board increase of 2.6% and the BOT proposed 2.25%. As you can see, we are close to agreement on the across-the-board salary increase.

The next bargaining session is this Friday, August 18th, noon – 2:00 p.m. in MH 395E. Please come support our bargaining team. Our raises and promotion increases depend on turnout!

All bargaining proposals and handouts are available on-line at As always, if you are not already an active member of UFF-UCF, please join us.
