Bargaining Proposal Procedures

Procedures for Exchange of Proposal Language (UFF Proposal, 9/22/03)

The team presenting proposed contract language will provide six (6) printed copies of its proposal for use by the other bargaining team during that session. An electronic copy identical to the printed copies will be provided to facilitate preparation of the other team's response.

The proposal will be dated and clearly labeled on each page to indicate the team originating it. If it is in direct response to a prior proposal from the other team, the date of the prior proposal will also be indicated. The pages and lines will be numbered to facilitate discussion.

As proposals move back and forth, all proposed changes in the contract language will be indicated by striking proposed deletions with a single line and underlining proposed additions.

These procedures may be modified by mutual agreement.
